After my continual participation on the meetings related with activities and special attention on Roma issues organized by OSCE, I feel as my responsibility and necessity to convey my opinions and views from the “Human Dimension Implementation Meeting 2006″ and side events held in Warsaw, from 2-13 October, organized by OSCE. My participation on these meetings helped me to foresee how Roma issues are addressed by the states in the OSCE region. From 9th to 13th of July, NRC’s according to the planned activities for implementation of the project The key is our hands, campaign for education of the Roma visited the 11 targeted cities in R. ROMA CAMPAIGN FOR ELECTION EDUCATION “Dzan”
PLAY FAIR FOR FAIR ELECTIONS
The National Roma Centrum held a press conference today in the NGO Info center in Skopje, on which the pre election campaign was presented, called DZAN (in translation GO). The campaign has for a goal to educate and to motivate the Roma to come out and vote on the 5th of July 2006. The election process is an important moment where freedom of expression SHOULD BE respected, and promotion of mutual understanding, tolerance and raising awareness that the Roma need to be equal participants SHOULD BE A FACT, was pointed out by the coordinator of the campaign Asmet Elezovski. Fair play for fair participation
National Roma Centrum from Kumanovo is organizing the campaign “Dzan” (translated: go, know), in order to increase the level of Roma participation in all forms of civil participation in the society. The organization will work on education and motivation on Romani voters to be involved in the electoral process for the Parliamentary elections in Macedonia. The campaign is organized with support by Roma Participation Programme Budapest. Through our working programme and propaganda material as well with basic instructions, we want to convey a message to stop with the manipulation of Roma votes. NGOs Urge Macedonian Authorities to Investigate Death of Trajan Bekirov

16 June 2006, Budapest, Skopje. The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) and the National Roma Centrum (NRC) sent a letter to Dr. Vlado Buckovski, Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia expressing grave concern about the recent death of a Romani youth named Trajan Bekirov, and urging that Macedonian authorities to carry out a prompt, thorough and effective investigation. On the 5th of April in the “Holiday Inn” hotel in Skopje at 9:00 o’clock we are organizing a Working session for solving of the problem with the Roma education on which representatives from government institutions, the local self government and Roma non governmental organizations will attend. Based on our so far activities, we consider that the Roma are still on the margins of the society’s living. The basic factors which bring the Roma in this position are the crisis through which this region passes, as well as the difficult financial and social condition.
